Sean spent much of his young adulthood working in the music business, and has been studying and working in theatrical sound design for fifteen years. He has performed all over the country in theaters, bars, fairs, and festivals, most notably SXSW in Austin, Texas, the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts, and Fry Street Fair. Sean has worked (and lived!) in recording studios, designed sound for numerous plays and theatre events, and is comfortable working with a wide array of software, including Q-Lab, Pro Tools, Reason, Ableton Live, Isadora, Garage Band, and Cakewalk. Sean is also qualified to work with a variety of mixing, amplification, and effects hardware, including live wireless (lav) microphone mixing.

WHAT IS – Fragment of a solo sound performance/collage piece utilizing sounds from Cuong Vu, George Carlin, Skrew, and Google Translate; mixed with Pro Tools. Towson University Laboratory Performance, 2011: dir. Sean Mahoney.

THE DRIPS – Original composition for solo sound performance piece, using bass, guitar, and digital instruments, recorded with Pro Tools. Solo performance, 2011: dir. Sean Mahoney.
HOMEWRECKER – Experimental electronic piece; I just wanted to see if I could write a whole song using nothing but ‘Fruity Loops’ (beat-making) software. Sequenced and mixed with Fruity Loops (free version). 2004.
